In terms of specific export trading partners, the demand for South Korea remained the highest this month. The demand from countries such as Turkey and Vietnam shifted from decrease to increase. In April, the export volume to South Korea was 7,700 mt, down 18.95% MoM from April, mainly due to the impact of the procurement volume from the previous period not yet fully consumed, coupled with some end-use sectors of silicone entering the off-season, leading to a decline in South Korea's trade volume. The top 5 export trading partners in May were South Korea, India, Turkey, the US, and Vietnam, accounting for 49.18% of the total export volume. Among them, Turkey's demand rose to the third position, with a trade volume of 3,000 mt. The total trade volume of the top 5 export trading partners was 22,900 mt, slightly decreasing by nearly 1,000 mt MoM from April.

Before the holiday, the black chain is unlikely to see a trend-driven market [SMM Steel Industry Chain Weekly Report].
This week, ferrous metals were in the doldrums, with coking coal and coke staging a mid-week rise. At the beginning of the week, financial markets experienced sharp fluctuations, dragging down sentiment in the ferrous chain and leading to a pullback in futures. Mid-week, Indonesia's cut to coke production quotas drove coking coal and coke futures to lead the gains, though the impact was more pronounced on thermal coal, while coking coal's rise was largely sentiment-driven and short-lived. In the latter part of the week, finished products continued their seasonal inventory buildup, and support from the raw material side weakened, causing the entire ferrous chain to pull back. In the spot market, with the Chinese New Year holiday approaching, purchasing activity slowed down further, with end-users only making limited, as-needed purchases at low prices.
